Beginning Stages: Cycling & Obtaining Equipment
Right off the bat, a sponge filter in a reef tank looks a little odd… so why is it in there? Currently, I am cycling the tank with bioactive sand, dry-rock & the sponge filter. I am purchasing a refugium that will later replace the sponge filter. Since the sponge filter will already have been “cycled”, I’ll put it in a new project tank where I will have to do minimal cycling then…
I’m going to look for some cheap macroalgae and zoanthids soon… Hopefully a critter too.
